Vietnam confirms 33 more domestic Covid-19 patients, with all new patients recorded in areas that have been isolated.

35 new COVID-19 cases reported Thursday morning, of them, central Da Nang City registered 22 patients, northern Bac Ninh Province and capital Hanoi reported three each, and northern Vinh Phuc and Bac Giang provinces two each.
Vietnam has recorded 644 infections in 26 cities and provinces so far in this new wave of Covid-19, which started on April 27 and by far has been the country’s most challenging one.
Hanoi has recorded 166 cases, including 104 in lockdowned hospitals, Bac Ninh 137 and Da Nang 102.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on Wednesday demanded authorities of Da Nang City and the northern provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang to strictly prevent the contagion of Covid-19 in industrial parks. Such cases will disrupt the manufacturing and supply chains and will severely hurt the economy, he added.
Since the disease appeared in the country early last year, Vietnam has got 3,658 Covid-19 cases, including 2,213 domestic cases and the rest imported.
More than 942,000 people, or 1 percent of the country’s population, have been vaccinated against Covid-19, according to VNExpress.
