Many provinces and cities have been continuing to “roll out the red carpet”, organize events, programs and activities to stimulate tourism demand, especially the upcoming summer tourist season.
The number of visitors skyrocketed
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the past 3 days of the Hung Kings Anniversary 2022 holiday alone, the destinations welcomed and served about 3 million domestic visitors, of which about 1.6 million stayed.
Hanoi serves about 200,000 visitors, the total revenue from tourism is estimated at 560 billion VND. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City serves about 250,000 visitors, the total revenue from tourism is estimated at 1,100 billion VND.
The above figure shows that the tourism industry is showing positive signs of revival. Mr. Pham Minh Quang, General Director of Dolphin Tour, said that Vietnam’s tourism has really entered the recovery phase.

According to Booking.com’s assessment, after a long time “anyone stays where they are”, Vietnamese tourists are very excited about the trip, especially the upcoming summer tourist season.
Data from Booking.com shows that with domestic tourism, travelers mainly look to beaches and mountain resorts to “evade the heat” this summer. Da Nang topped the list of domestic destinations with domestic tourists, followed by Da Lat (Lam Dong province), Vung Tau (Ba Ria – Vung Tau province), Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc.
In the context that more and more travel restrictions are lifted and the world is gradually reopening, along with Vietnam’s resumption of direct flights to countries, summer 2022 seems to mark the return of international travel with Vietnamese tourists.
Domestic travel agencies are busy implementing foreign package tours and witnessing a large number of tour bookings. According to an analysis by Booking.com, Japan, USA, France, Thailand and Singapore, Cambodia, Australia, Germany, UK, Taiwan (China) are the top international destinations chosen for upcoming travel.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Vietravel has just launched a set of more than 30 tours to Korea, Japan, Dubai, Maldives, Turkey, Europe, Australia, and the US. from March 15 to now, the company has received about 1,000 visitors booking tours to Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Dubai (UAE), Maldives, Turkey, European countries, Australia and the US. Currently, tours to Thailand and Dubai during the holidays of April 30 and May 1 are full, tours to Cambodia and Singapore continue to be of interest to tourists.

Stimulating both domestic and international demand
To attract tourists, provinces and cities across the country have been continuing to “roll out the red carpet”, organize events, programs and activities to stimulate tourism, especially the upcoming summer tourist season.
The Week of Culture and Tourism in 6 provinces of Viet Bac and Hanoi in 2022, hosted by Ha Giang as the host group, has just been held in Hanoi, attracting tens of thousands of attendees. This is one of the important activities, starting the series of events in the program “Through the Viet Bac heritage regions”.
With the promotion of the image and affirmation of the tourism brand “Quang Binh – a natural, attractive and different destination” to domestic and international tourists, the Department of Tourism of Quang Binh province said that it will deploy products a series of activities to promote the international tourism market, such as cooperation with film studios and international media to promote Quang Binh tourism; cooperate in promoting and attracting tourists from the Japanese market.
The province will also participate in the tourism promotion program of 5 localities: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Nam and Da Nang at the Asia Route Development Forum; organize a working delegation to promote investment and tourism in Korea, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong Huyen, Director of Hai Phong Department of Tourism, also stated her determination to promote the segment of the domestic tourist market, especially the domestic market of the southern provinces. For international visitors, Hai Phong will expand cooperation to attract tourists from markets with direct flights to Hai Phong. In particular, focusing on exploiting tourists from Northeast Asia, Australia, Western Europe and Eastern Europe.
