Vietnam “rolls out the red carpet” to welcome tourists

The number of visitors skyrocketed

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the past 3 days of the Hung Kings Anniversary 2022 holiday alone, the destinations welcomed and served about 3 million domestic visitors, of which about 1.6 million stayed.

Hanoi serves about 200,000 visitors, the total revenue from tourism is estimated at 560 billion VND. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City serves about 250,000 visitors, the total revenue from tourism is estimated at 1,100 billion VND.

Data from Booking.com shows that with domestic tourism, travelers mainly look to beaches and mountain resorts to “evade the heat” this summer. Da Nang topped the list of domestic destinations with domestic tourists, followed by Da Lat (Lam Dong province), Vung Tau (Ba Ria – Vung Tau province), Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc.

In the context that more and more travel restrictions are lifted and the world is gradually reopening, along with Vietnam’s resumption of direct flights to countries, summer 2022 seems to mark the return of international travel with Vietnamese tourists.

Domestic travel agencies are busy implementing foreign package tours and witnessing a large number of tour bookings. According to an analysis by Booking.com, Japan, USA, France, Thailand and Singapore, Cambodia, Australia, Germany, UK, Taiwan (China) are the top international destinations chosen for upcoming travel.

Stimulating both domestic and international demand
