According to the initial information, Chen Xiao Lie, 27, was hired to work at Resort Ocean Estate in Ngu Hanh Son District by a man named Chen Ji.
While working there, Chen Xiao Lie knew that Chen Ji put quite a lot of money in a safe. He then persuaded his countryman Wang Bai Qiang, 38, into coming to Chen Ji’s house to take part in the theft.
On June 16, Chen Xiao Lie instructed Wang Bai Qiang to break into Chen Ji’s house to steal the safe, but failed. One day later, when Chen Ji was sleeping, Chen Xiao Lie stole the safe and gave it to Wang Bai Qiang.
After that, Wang Bai Qiang took the safe to a vacant land plot and used a crowbar to destroy it to steal valuables worth VND3 billion (USD130,434), including two watches.
Wang Bai Qiang gave Chen Xiao Lie part of the assets. He then left Chen and fled.
After being informed by Chen Ji, the police inspected the case and Chen Xiao Lie and Wang Bai Qiang.
