The second repatriation with nearly 300 Vietnamese citizens on board is scheduled to arrive in Hanoi on March 10.
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which is operated by Bamboo Airway took off from Noi Bai International Airport at 1:55am on Wednesday and is scheduled to land at Warsaw Chopin Airport at 9:00am (local time), or 15:00pm (Hanoi time), the same day.
The flight is expected to arrive back in Hanoi at about 5:15am on Thursday (local time), three hours later than the initial schedule.
Before that, 287 Vietnamese people came home on the first repatriation flight run by Vietnam Airlines. Both flights have been arranged and completely funded by Vietnamese government.
According to Vietnamese deputy foreign minister Pham Quang Hieu, the majority of the Vietnamese citizens in Ukraine have been safely evacuated from war zones, and the government will continue working to have appropriate repatriation plans based on the demands.
As of 4pm on March 9, nearly 4,000 Vietnamese fleeing Ukraine are being hosted by Vietnamese representative agencies in Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia./
