Google’s market analysis data shows that there is a very fast increase in the number of searches about Vietnam tourism. Globally, Vietnam holds the position of one of the few countries with the highest growth rate, reaching over 75%.

The latest data from the General Statistics Office shows that international visitors to Vietnam in May reached 172.9 thousand arrivals, an increase of 70.6% over the previous month and 12.8 times higher than the same period last year. That is a positive signal after Vietnam announced that it will be fully open to tourism from March 15, international flight routes have been restored and many international delegations come to Vietnam to attend the 31st SEA Games.

Generally, in the first 5 months of 2022, international visitors to our country reached 365.3 thousand arrivals, 4.5 times higher than the same period last year but still down 95% compared to the same period in 2019, the year there was no Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the General Statistics Office, among the total number of international visitors to Vietnam in 5 months, the number of visitors from Australia and the Americas increased the most, with 17,806 and 49,675 arrivals respectively, an increase of 2,918% and 2,192% respectively; followed by visitors from Europe with 65,253 arrivals, an increase of more than 975%. Visitors to Asia reached nearly 231,000 arrivals, up 222% and Africa 1,583 arrivals, up 168%.

In addition, among them, visitors arriving by air reached 320.7 thousand arrivals, accounting for 87.8% of international visitors to Vietnam, 6.3 times higher than the same period last year; The rest are visitors by road and a very small number by sea.
