Trip summary
Day 1: Hanoi city tour> Night train to Lao Cai
Morning pick up at Hanoi airport before going to the city center for lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university with typical architecture of old Hanoi. Take a cyclo around Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Visit the busy Dong Xuan market and then participate in a water puppet show. Check in hotel for a short rest and shower. Dinner is your own. Move to the station to take the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on the train

Day 2: Lao Cai> Cao Son Market> Sapa
Morning to Lao Cai. Breakfast is served before heading to Cao Son Market (2.5 hours away). Although small, this busy market is where ethnic minorities Hoa Mong, Black Dao, Tay and Nung come to buy and sell local products such as food, food, agricultural raw materials, and fabrics. People come here to meet friends, relatives or sip a few glasses of wine until dawn. You will be warmly welcomed by the H’mong with delicious corn wine and boundless hospitality. Return to Muong Khuong and enjoy local lunch. The car takes the group to Sapa. Afternoon free to walk around Sapa. Dinner is your own. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 3: Sapa – Walking to the villages
Have a local breakfast in Sapa (where many Vietnamese ethnic minorities live) before walking to the villages. Sneak through the market and leave the bustling town behind before descending downhill to the idyllic Cat Cat village. Stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a while. Hike a trail through rice fields and enjoy the breathtaking scenery along a narrow river. Head to Y Linh Ho village of the Black Hmong, where you can rest while lunch near the river is served. Going to Muong Hoa valley, passing Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong and Ta Van village of the Giay. Overnight at Giay ethnic house. Walk along the valley to enjoy the view as well as swim in the nearby river. Dinner and homestay with local people

Day 4: Walk more – Sapa> Night Train Back to Hanoi
Depart for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao people after breakfast. Hiking through the bamboo forest of Hoang Lien National Park. Pass by a romantic waterfall, rest and enjoy the surroundings. You will find a nice place to enjoy lunch. Continue going towards Su Pan, a small village located by the road after luch. Return to Sapa by car. Free until the time to move to Lao Cai station for the night train back to Hanoi. Dinner is your own. Overnight on the train
