Sam Son Beach
Sam Son is a coastal district east of Thanh Hoa, 16km from the center of Thanh Hoa city.
Sam Son has long been a popular tourist destination of Vietnam since the beginning of the last century, when the French began to build facilities there to serve themselves and the Nguyen court. In addition to the gifts that nature gives, Sam Son also has many attractions for visitors to explore.
Sam Son town has a long and beautiful beach with a length of more than 16km. The calm and gentle sandy beach combined with the clear blue water makes the scenery of Sam Son sea become magnificent and attractive. Visitors will have unforgettable moments when immersing in the cool blue sea, listening to the music of the waves and wind, taking a nap on the sunny sandy beach or building a sand castle. Also, it’s a good place to try different local seafood like shrimp, crab, fish and also to take home nice souvenirs.

Besides beaches, Sam Son also has another attractive destination with many natural attractions and historical sites: Truong Le mountain range. The part adjacent to the sea is called Co Giai islet. On the top of this island, there is a small pagoda named Doc Cuoc, which means “One leg”. The temple is a place for locals to recall the epic legend of a giant who slayed sea monsters and protected the sea in the past. In addition, there is a special rock field called “Drum Mai”, which is formed from two large rocks on a flat rock. There is a story that these rocks represent a couple, passionately in love even when both have transformed into birds.
