According to the IT human resources market survey, Vietnam lacks 90,000 IT employees in 2019. In 2020, this number has increased to more than 400,000 employees and is estimated to be 500,000 by 2021.

Experts said that market demand has changed, requiring IT staff to improve soft skills and expertise in the areas of sales and customer service to help businesses move.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Binh, Director of the Center for Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises, VCCI, said that now SMEs in the service industry are starting digital transformation to boost business post-Covid-19. The employment for IT staff increases accordingly.

However, workers in the industry are now required knowledge in the areas of sales and customers to support businesses. VCCI has worked with technology training units and businesses to build a digital transformation ecosystem for SMEs, including training IT forces with both technology and soft skills.

K-Group noticed the imbalance between demand and supply of high-quality labor for the technology industry at present when building its startup ecosystem. Its partnership with NIIT will build a high-quality workforce in the IT sector in the long term when Vietnam is promoting digital converter (digital converter) and industry 4.0, said Mr Nguyen Duy Khanh, CEO of K-Group. Students will be trained in both new technologies such as IoT, AI, Blockchain and the skills to help their business growth.
