Located on a mountain with the back of a tortoise, this house is expected to bring fortune and prosperity to the owner because the turtle is one of the four sacred animals in Vietnamese traditional legends (the four spirits are the Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise and Phoenix). It is arranged with 4 horizontal blocks and 6 vertical rows divided into 2 floors and 64 rooms. The house is carefully decorated with images of sacred and respected animals such as lions, dragons, bats, and phoenixes to represent the family’s prosperity and wealth. Around the mansion, there is a solid stone wall, 50cm wide, with a number of watchtowers and loopholes. This wall not only protects the family from the attack of enemies from the outside, but also creates a sense of grandeur for the house inside. Outside the mansion is a stone path leading to the main door, and the family mausoleum.
