The People’s Committee Building, one of 17 landmarks over 100 years old of Ho Chi Minh City, was designed and constructed under the supervision of Femand Gardes between 1889 and 1909.

This building was known as Hôtel de Ville during the French colonial period, while it was converted into a town hall by the South Vietnamese government. Since 1975, this building has been known as the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Building. Located at the intersection of Nguyen Hue Boulevard and Le Thanh Ton Street, you can easily go to any area of ​​downtown Ho Chi Minh City. This Renaissance-style town hall bears a striking resemblance to the town hall in Paris.

The façade of this building is a perfect amalgamation of various decorations, the most famous of which is the Marianne bas-relief located in the center of the façade, reflecting the architecture of the French Third Republic. .
