The World MICE Awards 2021 is a sister event of the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA).

It was first organized in 2020 to celebrate and reward excellence in MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) tourism.

This year, it seeks to find out the most outstanding MICE service providers and locales in various countries around the world, including Asia’s best MICE destination, hotels, and airlines.

The winner of the ‘Asia’s Best MICE Destination’ category in 2020, Ho Chi Minh City will be defending the title against this year’s nominated destinations, namely Bangkok (Thailand), Beijing (China), Hong Kong (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Macau (China), Seoul (South Korea), and Singapore.

Winners of 2021 World MICE Awards will be decided through public voting, which runs from June 9 until 14 September.

Votes can be cast via the World MICE Awards website https://worldmiceawards.com.

In Vietnam, the MICE tourism sector is on an upward trajectory, proving to be a life source for domestic tourism companies during the coronavirus upheaval that shut down a large part of the industry.

Fostering the MICE market has been among the top goals of Vietnamese tourism’s development strategy with a vision for 2030, which was endorsed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

With established infrastructure and a booming business ecosystem, Ho Chi Minh City is emerging as a spearhead of MICE tourism in the Southeast Asian country.
