Voted by global travelers and beer lovers on online travel agency Booking.com, Hanoi is the best beer drinking destination in Vietnam.

Among the first Vietnamese breweries in the 19th century under French colonial rule, Hanoi is famous for its bia hoi (“bia hoi” in Vietnamese) in numerous spots around the capital. Booking.com describes Hanoi as a “must-visit beer paradise” with the experience of drinking beer while sitting on a plastic chair.

The subjects of the survey are adults traveling for business or pleasure who have traveled within the past 12 months and plan to travel in the next 12 months. The survey attracted 47,728 respondents in 28 countries and territories.

As noted by Booking.com, the Ta Hien – Luong Ngoc Quyen intersection is a famous place to enjoy beer in Hanoi with many bars, pubs, eateries, and draft beer on the sidewalk. Draft beer is brewed locally daily, bia hoi has only 3% alcohol and is cheaper than other beers. A 300ml glass of draft beer is about 7,000-10,000 VND while the cost for a bottle or can of beer ranges from 25,000 to 200,000 VND.
