On Saturday, the first international flight to Phu Quoc island landed after two years of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The flight carried 204 Korean tourists from Seoul to Phu Quoc International Airport.

During the trip, tourists will be tested twice for Covid-19 upon arrival and before leaving the island. After the mandatory health check, they will stay at Phu Quoc United Center, which opens resorts, parks, zoos, entertainment and sports venues.

One of the visitors expressed excitement about coming to Phu Quoc during the pilot vaccine passport program “I am so happy to see that everything, from the scenery to the way we were received, is amazing”.

Nguyen Luu Trung, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Kien Giang province is expected to welcome about 400,000 foreign tourists by the end of 2021. Also in the words of the General Department of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh said: that the visit plays an important role in revitalizing Vietnam’s tourism.

Previously, Da Nang was the city to welcome the first international tourists to Vietnam during the epidemic. Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa and Quang Ninh are the other three provinces in the pilot vaccine passport program to welcome foreign tourists.
